Malaysian Sign Language (BIM) is a sign language used daily in most places in Malaysia. BIM has many dialects, differing from state to state. 

Malaysian Sign Language (BIM) is the native language for the deaf community in Malaysia. BIM is also the mother tongue and special sign language for the Malaysian deaf community. In the Persons with Disabilities Act 2008, it has been stated that BIM is the official language for the deaf community in Malaysia.

This Basic Sign Language Course is an initiative under Strategic Objective 5: University Ecosystem Excellence aligned with Core 5B: Wellbeing and Talented Human Resources, 5B(3) MyU-OKU Score, and the implementation of this initiative is categorized under PPU 2A(2) Staff or Students undergoing technical industry handling training in the UMPSA Strategic Plan 2023-2025. 

This Basic Sign Language Course is a strategic collaboration between the Disability Services Unit (OkUMPSA), Human Resource Development Division (BPSM), and the Pahang Deaf Association (PADA).
