Good transportation system within a university is one of the most crucial parts in ensuring smooth movements of all types of road users hence enhancing productivity of the university itself. In an attempt to improve the overall traffic flow within Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), Pekan Campus, this research is proposed. To kick start, a structured survey targeting at populations of staffs and students of Pekan Campus will be conducted. Main objective of this survey is to assess specific transportation issues faced by the campus community. Based on the feedback gathered from the survey, specific working framework will be developed. Crucial traffic data such as Origin-Destinations (OD) survey, traffic volume, rate of flow, traffic densiity and traffic capacity will be collected on site. These data will be used as a basis for designing new traffic flow for UMP, Pekan Campus. The design of the new traffic flow will take into account the factor of accessibilities, connectivity as well as safety of all types of road users. fter the design phase is successfully completed, the new traffic flow will be simulated using specific traffic flow simulation software called AimSun to scrutinized for any possible conflicts that may be arises due to the implementations of the new traffic flow. Not only that, the simulation is very useful to be used as future reference especially when new development is proposed. It is hope that the new traffic flow will be able to solve and smoothen the movements of all types of road users within the campus.
